seitics.de is my personal blog to host articles, rants, downloads and other stuff for you to peruse at your discretion. I'm shooting for original stuff not found anywhere else or at least only in very few other places.
seitics.de used to stand for "SE IT infrastructure consulting and services", a business I ran for local companies before shifting gear and founding embinet GmbH together with my partner many moons ago.
This site is hosted on a solid state FWX2E-100 firewall box that has no moving parts. The box has a 500 MHz CPU, 256 MB RAM, 2 GB compact flash and draws a mere 5 watts of electrical power. As such it may be a little slower than the average joe blog to serve out the dynamic pages. Compared to the old box though with 12 disks (not kidding), 600 watts psu and a boat load more of components this new system is really saving alot of energy.
The blog theme you see is called "The Journalist" by Lucian E. Marin with changes by Peter Boorsma. Most larger icons are from the "Crystal Project" by Everaldo Coelho licensed under the terms of LGPL. Thanks to them for making all the great art available.
